Best Gardens Competition

Calling gardeners of all experience levels! Enter into Malmesbury's 2026 Best Gardens Competition across 13 categories: window boxes, hanging baskets and containers; courtyards, patios and small gardens; street, road or area; businesses; new garden (three years and under); vegetable patch/allotment; sustainable gardener; super gardener; young gardener (eight to 18-year-olds); gardens beyond Malmesbury; and wildflower garden.

Entries Close: Wednesday 1st July

Judging: Week commencing 20th July

Children’s Sunflower Growing Competition

Can you grow the tallest sunflower? Collect free seeds, pot, and compost and start growing! Be sure to submit your entry in time across one of three age categories: 5 and under, 10 and under, and 11 to 16-year-olds.

Free seeds & pots are available at the Gardening Club Plant Sale on 6th June 9am-1pm (Market Cross, Malmesbury), or from The Town Hall thereafter. While stocks last.

Malmesbury in Bloom is a programme of free community events designed for all residents of our town and surrounding area. Whether you’re a green-fingered regular, a budding gardener, or you’d just to like to appreciate our beautiful town in bloom, there’s something for all interests and ages this May to September.

MALMESBURY

MALMESBURY is a vibrant, market town, steeped in history going back to medieval times. Currently home to many famous & popular musical, cultural, and festival events throughout the year, visitors can browse the charming streets with independent retailers, or stop at one of the lively cafes, restaurants, pubs, and bars.

Attractions to visit include the stunning 12th century Malmesbury Abbey, 15th century Market Cross and the Athelstan Museum with a painting of Malmesbury Abbey by JMW Turner. There are also lovely walks along the River Avon.
