Reminder that this weekend is MALMESBURY'S IN THE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR WEEKEND!

 

Devereux’s Regiment are setting up camp in the Cloister Gardens and the Town Hall with live demonstrations of food preparation and cooking, the officers' tent, scribing, dyeing and making, sword skills, a beer shop and tavern, and music and dancing on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 4:30pm. The Warden and Freemen are showing the original Bird’s Eye View Map of Malmesbury on Saturday from 12 noon to 4:00pm. 

 

SUNDAY ROAD CLOSURE: There will be a road closure along Abbey Row, Gloucester Street and around Market Cross on Sunday the 5TH of May from 11:30AM to 5:30PM for two live re-enactments of the last attack on Malmesbury in May 1644.  Download details below.

 

The re-enactments are at 1:30PM and 3:00PM. There are viewing spaces on Abbey Row, Gloucester Street, the Abbey Grounds and Market Cross and they will be open from 20 minutes before each re-enactment. Stewards instructions must be followed at all times.

 

Please note parking is available in the Waitrose Car Park up to 3 hours with a purchase in the store.
