Athelstan Museum is situated in the heart of the ancient town of Malmesbury. This hill-top site has been occupied since at least the Iron Age period, and the museum displays a large range of items spanning the period from that time up to the present day. Full details on the Museum Website.

Julian Richards is a professional archaeologist – He presented Meet the Ancestors - including one from Abbey House Malmesbury.
His stellar career as a leading archaeologist will be a fascinating insight into our history and how it is still being revealed to us.
Julian’s life in the world of archaeology spans over 55 years (so far). Julian will explain where his fascination with the past began and why, after all this time, he still loves bringing the past to life - it has truly been a Career in Ruins.
This is the first of our Special Events for 2026 – we anticipate High Demand for tickets – so please book early!
