Retirement of John Kerslake, Mace Bearer

Retirement of John Kerslake, Mace Bearer

Malmesbury Town Council said a sad farewell to John Kerslake on Wednesday evening.  John has been our Mace Bearer for over 20 years and will be sadly missed.

John was presented a Mace silver pin, Malmesbury Garden gift vouchers and a 'This is Your Life' memory book of John's time as Mace Bearer.  A very special gift was from Stefano Vandelli.  A beautiful piece of music composed by Stefano especially for John.

A small celebration was held in his honor with guests including friends and family of John, former Mayors of Malmesbury, Town Councillors and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Piers Dibben.

Former Mayors of Malmesbury with John (L to R), Patrick Goldstone, Cllr Paul Smith, Cllr Wayne Jones, Cllr Ray Sanderson, Cllr Catherine Doody, Steve Cox, Sue Poole and Charles Vernon.
