Malmesbury Chapel - Review of Use

Malmesbury Chapel - Review of Use

The Town Council has been reviewing the use of the Chapel located in the front part of the cemetery on Tetbury Hill. The chapel was built around 1880 as a non-denominational chapel and since then has on occasions been used for small services. It has not had public access for a long time and has fallen into disuse.

Just over a year ago, a survey was carried out to ascertain what works would be necessary to bring the chapel back to a useable standard. Overall, the chapel is structurally sound but will need some restoration, redecoration and rewiring to bring it into a fully functional state.

The chapel is quite small – approximately 30 feet long and 16 feet wide with a height of 26 feet. It does have some beautiful wooden beams and stained-glass windows.
