Newnton Grove Play Area in Malmesbury has just had an upgrade!

Newnton Grove Play Area in Malmesbury has just had an upgrade. This much used play area will now benefit from a fit for purpose multi-play installation and surfacing, which will provide a safe and appropriately suitable area for local children to enjoy.

The new equipment was funded by Malmesbury Town Council, with support from Wiltshire Council Area Board.

Malmesbury Town Council are pleased to provide this excellent outcome for the local residents and their children, and see this as a marker of their continued commitment to improving the parks and services to the Malmesbury community as a whole.

In March we posted a news item here from the Mayor asking residents to respond to a proposal from the Local Government Boundary Commission for England to change the electoral boundaries for Malmesbury. That response was successful.The Commission’s original proposal, which the Town Council and Wiltshire Council opposed, was to allocate the south-east sector of the town (Abbey, Town Hall, High Street, Kingswall, St John’s Street) to the Sherston Division for the purposes of the election of Wiltshire Councillors.
